Dee's Fuckin' Game (yes that's the name, came from being frustrated in not knowing what name to call it) is a Adventure platformer game where you find collectables to explore more of the world while collecting giant gems.
Dee's a Shape shifting Shark girl and you're gonna need to learn to take advantage of those powers if you wanna find everything and beat up as many people as possible.
My main inspiration for this is mostly classic gameboy colour games as that was my first console and I tried my best to follow those limitations while enhancing some other aspects (sprite palette limit, wide screen)
This game's still in development, I've been uploading updates over on my patreon monthly, and if this thread picks up traction I'll be posting updates here too.
I started developing this idea a while ago and it's been picking up momentum this year, originally I was just going to use Godot's in built tile maps and go from there but it became too frustrating to the point I decided to build my own editor inside the game specifically to build my own stages, I mention this because I'm still thinking about the possibility of letting people use this editor to make their own campaigns

i really love how fluid the animations for this game look, honestly
best of luck with the game, it looks great so far <3
thank you all for the comments hehe, animation comments is gives me a good excuse to post the inspiration for the animations.
So like, one of the games I ran across was a Daffy Duck game on the gameboy colour, and for some reason it has the smoothest animations I've seen on a gameboy
I also grew up with the gameboy colour port of Rayman which had this pre rendered intro for the game's title sequence
So yeah that's my basis for what reasons I went with for Dee, I'm not capable of hand animating a lot of the game, especially with the different forms so I took a 3D approach, where I use a model designed to be seen at low resolution and pose it at a specific angle that Godot loads into a viewport and shows in game.
Doing this lets me quickly make new animations I need for the game and keep everything smooth, it's still a lot of work to do each form and I can't use this modeling technique for everything (enemies are pre-rendered for example)
so yeah applying all this I can make her do stuff like this.

I'll have to make time to take some screenshots but basically I draw them out, seperate each body part then upscale it x2 using asesprite's rotsprite filtering, then I try to match them up in blender and use an armature to try and rig up the animations for them, only limitation is that they're limited in the angles but when I really need more I can just model it out and render it.
